Princeton Acupuncture & Body Work
Q. Will it hurt?
A. No, acupuncture is a gentle treatment using needles almost as thin as a human hair. You may feel a sensation such as a slight prick when the needle goes in or you may feel nothing at all. Most people find acupuncture to be very comfortable and relaxing. Let your practitioner know if you are apprehensive about the needles.
Q. How many sessions will I need?
A. The number of treatments you need will depend on how long you have had your condition and how serious it is. Generally, we suggest that you commit to a series of 10 treatments. It can take time to put all the pieces of your health condition together and find the best solution for you. We may suggest different or additional therapy modalities once we do our intake.
Q. Will my insurance cover this?
A. Many insurance carriers do pay for acupuncture so it is ALWAYS best to call and ask. If your insurance does cover acupuncture be sure to get the details as to how they pay and how much. We are happy to help you with the proper claim forms.
Medical Savings Accounts and Flex Spending will cover acupuncture. We offer family discounts and membership plans that will help reduce your cost.
Q. How should I dress?
A. It will not be necessary for you to disrobe. You may wear loose, comfortable clothes or bring a t-shirt and shorts to change into for treatment.
Q. What if I need to cancel my appointment?
A. Out of courtesy to your practitioner and to other patients who may want an appointment time, we request that you give 24 hr notice of cancellation. Less than 24 hr notice or a "no show" will be billed 50% of the treatment price.
